Knowledge Computing
Corporation Selected as Finalist
for Arizona Governor's Innovator of the Year Award
09/28/04
Tucson, AZ
Knowledge Computing Corporation today announced that the
company is a finalist for the Arizona Governor's
Innovator of the Year Award for its critically acclaimed
crime fighting solution, COPLINK®. The company was
nominated by its lead investor, Arizona-based Diamond
Ventures, in the category for Arizona companies with
under $50 million in annual revenue. The awards program
is acknowledged as the premier recognition of statewide
technology leadership in innovation.
"It is a tremendous honor for our company to be among
such a distinguished group of finalists and we are very
proud of our employees for their dedicated teamwork in
driving year after year exponential growth and
profitability," said Bob Griffin, CEO of Knowledge
Computing Corporation. "Arizona's talent, resources and
commitment to cultivating innovation continues to help
Knowledge Computing Corporation expand its leadership
position at the local, tribal, state and federal level
for law enforcement and homeland security solutions."
Knowledge Computing Corporation's COPLINK provides
unparalleled analysis and decision support for rapidly
identifying criminal suspects, relationships and
patterns that can help solve and prevent crime. The
solution is also promising for use in homeland security
applications to thwart terrorism.
COPLINK works by allowing vast quantities of structured
and seemingly unrelated data, currently housed in
various incompatible databases, to be securely
organized, consolidated and rapidly analyzed over a
highly secure intranet-based platform. One search using
known or partial facts from an ongoing investigation can
produce qualified leads in seconds - a process that
prior to COPLINK wasn't possible or often took days or
weeks. Through sophisticated analytics, COPLINK builds
'institutional memory,' reduces knowledge gaps and
prevents criminals from falling through the cracks.
COPLINK first catapulted into the national spotlight for
its proof of concept role following the Montgomery
County, MD sniper investigation. The solution is now
deployed in over 100 jurisdictions nationwide from
Boston to San Diego to support police officers in
fighting crime and improving community safety.
